Missing His Blessing

1 Chron 13:12-14
12 David was afraid of God that day and asked, "How can I ever bring the ark of God to me?" 13 He did not take the ark to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it aside to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. 14 The ark of God remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house for three months, and the LORD blessed his household and everything he had.

Here, David was afraid of being in the Lord's presence, so he found a way to have Him stay away. David missed out on a blessing. If he had received the Lord into his presence, then the Lord would have blessed Him.

So many times we feel in some way not wanting to be in the Lord's presence. We may not feel like going to church or doing his reading or even praying to Him, so we miss out on His blessing on us. I want to not be like David here and always seek being with the Lord in all things.

Father, I thank you for this word. I want to seek you more and know you more and just be in your presence. I want to be with you. I know that you are here with me but let me always want more of you. I thank you for your words and I pray that your Spirit guide me today. Thank you for your blessing and I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

Bind and Loose

Matt 16:16-20
16Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

17Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." 20Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.

Jesus gives us authority to bind and loose. This means that, in Christ, we have the authority that He has given to us to spread the good news about Jesus and establish His kingdom here on earth. His words are ever changing and he has allowed us to bind and loose His authority.

We must remember the spiritual authority that Jesus has passed on to us. We are not timid low-level humans that no not and have not anything, but we have the power of Christ Jesus. We have His authority in all of heaven and earth to speak the truth of His life to others.

Father, I want to thank you for your love and for your power that you have established through me. I pray for your anointing and of your wisdom and grace to be a servant for you. I pray, in your Spirit, to be able to bind and loose all things in Christ Jesus. Let your kingdom expand and let others know of your love for them. I pray all these in your Holy name.
Amen.

Heart Close To Him

Matt 15:
3Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? 4For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.' 5But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is a gift devoted to God,' 6he is not to 'honor his father' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
8" 'These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
9They worship me in vain;
their teachings are but rules taught by men.'"

The things that we say or the actions that we do mean little compared to the heart that we have to God. He wants us to have our hearts close to Him, to really know Him more than just a God, but to have a relationship with Him.

I know that the Lord God is the God of all things, and that he wants more than just actions and words, but a heart for Him. I need to have a heart to Love the Lord with my all.

Father, I thank you for your Love for me. I know that you are the God that desires to know me. I pray for a heart close to you and to desire to know you more and more every single day. I pray that I keep that desire to have a heart after your own. I pray all these in your Holy name.
Amen.

Jesus Keeps Me From Sinking

Matt 14:25-33
25During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.

27But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."

28"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."

29"Come," he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"

31Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"

32And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

This passages speaks mounds of breath to my life. So many times I feel fired-up for the Lord. I feel like I could walk towards God on water, but many times we start to sink and fall and need Him to rescue us.

I am a fallen sheep, saved by the grace of God. Many times I feel like I am sinking in water. I know that God is there to hold out his hand and save me. I need to put my faith in Him all the time.

Father, I thank you for this life of blessing. I know that you are the God of all the things and that you are Lord over my life. I pray that my life is focused on you. I don't want the wind or anything else to cause me to sink. Let me focus myself on you and you alone. I thank you for this encouragement and I pray that you be with me, bless me, and help me move forward towards you. In Jesus name I pray.
Amen.

A Heart of Love

2 Sam 1:11-12
11 Then David and all the men with him took hold of their clothes and tore them. 12 They mourned and wept and fasted till evening for Saul and his son Jonathan, and for the army of the LORD and the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.

David's heart for the Lord is so great here. He cries out even for his own enemy because he respects him as the Lord's anointed one. David and Saul were always on bad terms, but David respected Saul enough to not kill him and to even mourn for him when he died.

Our hearts needs to be like David's, because he had the heart of the Lord. His compassion and his love for the Lord led him to cry out even when those that were killing him, his enemies, died in battle. We need to have a heart just like him for the enemies that God puts in our lives, because God has called us not to only love the ones that love us, but to also love our enemies.

Father, I thank you for your love for me first of all. I know that you are so wonderful and that all creation bows down to your feet. I pray that my heart go out to all that are around me, not just those that are good to me, but those that are harder to love as well. I know that this is a tough prayer to pray for, but I truly desire a heart like yours, one that loves. And above all, let me love you more and more each day. I thank you for this time and I give you praise in Jesus name.
Amen.

Find Strength in the Lord

1 Sam 30:5-6
5 David's two wives had been captured—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. 6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God.

This was one of David's worst times. He was going through a lot from the captive of his family to the worries of being put to death by his own men. And yet, he trusts in the Lord and looks to Him for strength.

So many times do we go through the same thing, or at least we feel like it's the end of the world like King David. We feel like everything is going down the drain or just having a bad day, or we are having a dry spell spiritually that will get us down. But like David, we must look to the Lord for His strength. Trust in Him and He will grant you peace.

Father, I look to you. I want you day and night. I pray that I may have you with me when I need you the most. I know that your strength with strengthen me and lift me up. I thank you for this word of encouragement. Let me lean not of my own strength, but the strength of your Holy Spirit. I thank you again for this. I give you all the praises in Jesus name.
Amen.

T5+: Eternal Life: Priceless

You've probably head that diamonds are forever or that they're a girl's best friend. some people think diamonds are the world's rarest and most valuable gemstones. The truth is, there is no shortage of diamonds in the world. And there are other jewels that are considered more precious. Rubies are one example. The unique stones get their beauty from their luster and reddish color. Though most rubies sold today are man-made, natural rubies are rare and costly. A large natural ruby can be worth many times more than a diamond of he same size.
For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her (Proverbs 8:11)

If you happen to find a ruby, you probably wouldn't toss it in the trash. Yet many people carelessly cast aside something infinitely more valuable: the wealth of wisdom found in the Bible. The pages of God's Word offer what many people have sought throughout the ages: guidance, fulfillment, comfort, and the promise of eternal life. Sadly, most of the world fails to recognize the true worth of God's Word or lay claim to its promises.

god's truth is a treasure that should be sought out and cherished. The reward is eternity with God, a prize that is priceless, beyond compare.

I can show God that I truly treasure His Words by reading them and taking them in like water that I thirst for. His words are pregnant with truths that are living and apply to us daily. It has tons of great wealth that speak from God into our lives.

Father, I thank you for your glorious words. I know that it has tons of truths that you want us to know. Let your wisdom be unfolding when I read it and let it speak into my life so that it may be changed by the glory of your hand. I thank you for your precious words and for your greatness in my life. I thank you and pray all these things in your Holy name.
Amen.

Jesus Is Sending

Matt 10:16
16I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

This verse if full of truths that bring to light the life that we must live. God told us to go and make disciples and Jesus here is staying that it will not be pleasant, but it will be hard. There will be many dangers that we will face, but trust in the Lord.

Sometimes it is tough to share the love of the Lord, but it has to be done. Sometimes it is tough to make disciples, but it has to be done. There are going to always be tough times, but we have the Lord on our side, and he will make our paths straight.

I thank you Lord for the what you have blessed me with. I pray that your works be done here on earth. Make me a servant for you; be with me through your ministry. I will go where you take me. Let your blessing be there and your spirit guide me. I thank you Lord. I give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

God's Holy Soil

1 Sam 26:17-20
17 Saul recognized David's voice and said, "Is that your voice, David my son?"
David replied, "Yes it is, my lord the king." 18 And he added, "Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done, and what wrong am I guilty of? 19 Now let my lord the king listen to his servant's words. If the LORD has incited you against me, then may he accept an offering. If, however, men have done it, may they be cursed before the LORD! They have now driven me from my share in the LORD's inheritance and have said, 'Go, serve other gods.' 20 Now do not let my blood fall to the ground far from the presence of the LORD. The king of Israel has come out to look for a flea—as one hunts a partridge in the mountains."

There are many things that will drive us away from the Lord. Here, David is being driven away and being pushed off Israelite soil, away from God's anointed place.

We need to return to God's place of worship and back into His presence. There are going to be hard times. Many times we will feel like we are off of God's place, so we need to return back. We feel like we are almost off of that ledge, so we need to get back in.

Father, I want to get back into your presence. I know how great you are and how anointed your ground is. I want to be in your surrounding. I want to be on your soil. I pray that I may return to your soil, and I want to be with you. I love you Lord. I pray against any attacks that drives me away from you in Jesus name. I pray for your hand over my life and to be surrounded by your Holy Spirit. I thank you Lord. I pray all these in Jesus Holy name.
Amen.

T5+: Wish List

If you could have one wish - anything at all - what would it be? Would you wish for a hot red convertible, or perhaps a million dollars? Maybe you'd choose a drastic makeover, college scholarship, great singing voice, or starring role on your favorite television show.

Shortly after Solomon became king, God appeared to him in a dream and presented an amazing opportunity. god invited Solomon to make a request. Solomon could have asked for riches, long life, or victory over his enemies. Instead, the new young king made a humble and selfless request that moved God's heart.
Give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours? (1 Kings 3:9)

Solomon asked for wisdom to govern the people of Israel according to God's will. Rather than making a self-serving request, Solomon thought of his subjects first. Because of this, God promised to bless Solomon and expand his influence.

God is not a magic genie. He won't drop a million dollars out of heaven just to impress your friends. But He wants to answer prayers that line up with His will - requests arising from a selfless heart and a desire to please Him.

I believe God wants me to desire to know Him as well as to fill the need which He shows me. The better I know the Lord, and the closer I am to Him, I will be able to hear from Him more. I must pray to the Lord daily so that I may know His will for me.

Father, I thank you for such a great life, Lord. I want to know you more. You are the glory of all the heavens and all the earth. I pray that I be selfless in what I do and to be pleasing to you. Use me in your ways, mighty or not, just use me. I thank you for just being part of your glory. I pray all these in your Holy name.
Amen.

Having a Clear Eye

Matt 7:1-5
1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Jesus says here to be careful of judging others. He shows us that we need to have a clear discernment and humility to the Spirit to be able to know the intent of others.

We need to see clearly before discerning onto others. Jesus says to take out our own plank before removing the speck out of others. We need to be humble enough to know our own faults and to remove those of our own before helping others.

Father, I thank you for your grace and mercy on me. I know that you are a good and awesome God. I pray that I be humble in Spirit before you and know of my own faults. Lord, I pray that I not be subjected to my own plank and that I have a clear discernment in the Spirit before helping others. I thank you for this word and for your encouragement through this. I give you honor and glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Prayer Pleases The Lord

Matt 6:6-8
6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Prayer is crucial to a good relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. If we don't talk to Him, then how can we have a relationship with Him. He wants us to be obedient to Him and talk to Him daily. We don't pray because we want to ask God to do something because He already knows our hearts, but it is to submit to Him and to nurture our relationship with Him.

I want to pray more daily. I need that kind of relationship with the Lord if I am to be Christ-like. Though He knows my heart, I pray not to inform Him, but to build that relationship with Him and to trust in Him and grow closer to God.

Father, I thank you for this verse in your words. I know that I can pray more and talk to you more. Let me want to and desire to pray to you daily. Let that be my challenge. I thank you again for what you have done and I pray all these things in your Holy name.
Amen.

Go Fill A Need

Matt 4:12-14
12 When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he left Judea and returned to Galilee. 13 He went first to Nazareth, then left there and moved to Capernaum, beside the Sea of Galilee, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali. 14 This fulfilled what God said through the prophet Isaiah:

Jesus model was to go where there was a need. When John was not there, I believed he went to that place to start his ministry. Where there is a need, God is sending us.

I need to be able to hear the voice of God. I need to know His heart and His voice so that I may know what He wants for me. I need to go and obey His words.

Father, I thank you for this word, that I may know you and your heart me closely. I pray that I be able to hear from you and be able to do your will. I pray that I cross that road to help those or fill that need that you want. I thank you and pray for obedience in my heart.
Amen.

T5+: A Chance To Live

As a gunman massacred students at Virginia Tech, engineering professor Liviu Librescu blocked the door to his classroom with his body. The professor's bravery cost him his life, but his sacrifice bought a little extra time that allowed some students to escape by jumping out classroom windows.
Great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave (Psalm 86:13)

More than 2,000 years ago, another man died to deliver people from certain death. That man was Jesus. His death and resurrection afforded humanity the opportunity not only to escape death but also to live with Him forever.

To take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, people must ask Jesus to be the Forgiver of their sins and the Leader of their lives. Those who refuse to take these steps waste the opportunity Jesus has given them, and as a result they plunge themselves into never-ending death.

Probably, the most significant thing in my life is the love my parent show me through raising me up and sacrificing so much to me so that I may live a good life. They are good, and how much greater is our Lord Jesus Christ, that He has sacrificed His life for me so that I may life forever with Him.

Father, I thank you for this great gift that you have given to me. Lord, I thank you for the sacrifice that you have made for me. I pray that I may have a heart of sacrifice like you. I pray that I may be able to hear your words and your voice and live a life that you want me to live. I give you all the glory in Your Holy name.
Amen.

God Is With Us In Victory

1 Sam 17:24-26
24 When the Israelites saw the man, they all ran from him in great fear.

25 Now the Israelites had been saying, "Do you see how this man keeps coming out? He comes out to defy Israel. The king will give great wealth to the man who kills him. He will also give him his daughter in marriage and will exempt his father's family from taxes in Israel."

26 David asked the men standing near him, "What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?"

The courage of the Lord is on David. Even when all the people of Israel were afraid of this person Goliath, David had the courage of the Lord. He knew that God would be there and that His victory is already won.

We need to put our trust in the Lord our God. He has already won the battle and has given us our victory. We do not need to be afraid of anything that comes through because God is with us.

Father, I thank you for this time of just glorifying you. Your words give you glory and honor because it shows how great of a God you are. Lord, I pray that I may trust in you like how David trusted in you. I know that your words will be with me, that your spirit will go with me through battle. I thank you for all of these and I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

God's Understanding

1 Sam 16:7
7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

We are so prone to judge by the book of a cover. We always look at what it would be from our own understanding, but God says to give it to Him and He will make things right.

We need to give our decisions to the Lord. Only with His heart can we do what He wants for us. He is our Lord and Savior and His understanding goes way past anything that I can comprehend.

Father, I thank you for this word. I pray that you may be in my decisions. I pray to you that I may look beyond what I want or what I understand, but to have a heart to know you and to understand what you want for me. Lord, I thank you again for your spirit over these words and I pray all these things in your Holy name.
Amen.

T5+: The Lord Will Sustain

Michelle's parents lost their jobs and their insurance during her freshman year of high school. The family was living on limited finances and didn't have many options when it came to medical care. It was during this time her mom needed special medical attention. It was a rough time on their family relationships, their finances, and even their faith. Everything was stressful. Everything seemed to be tested during this period of their lives.

In a desperate time of counseling, their pastor shared with them that God understood the situation and would always take care of the less fortunate. He promises to look after the physical concerns of the needy.
The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness (Psalm 41:3).

God is aware of all financial problems. He can provide the needed finances, the needed insurance, or the supernatural healing to eliminate the problem. He is in control.

Michelle's family walked with God during the difficult situation. Medicines were made available and the condition was dealt with in a timely matter. In the end, it wasn't just the outcome of the medical situation they were thankful for but the reality that God walked with them along the way.

We struggle to trust God in our situations of need because we lack the faith that comes with what He has promised us. He has promised to take care of us, to give us life and life to the fullest. We need to put our faith in Him and know that He will answer our prayers.

Father, I pray that my faith be full enough to move mountains. I know that you are there in my life and I know that you will do something in my life and the lives that you will touch through me. I already see what you have done and I give you all the glory and praises for that. I pray that you continue to use me and let me faith in you expand. I thank you and pray all these things in your Holy name.
Amen.

Acommpanied By God's People

1 Sam 10:26
26 Saul also went to his home in Gibeah, accompanied by valiant men whose hearts God had touched.

We should always surround ourselves with people of God. Here, Saul is accompanied by people who are on fire for the Lord. God had touch these men that were with Saul.

We should also have a company who will be on fir for the Lord, so that we may be encouraged together. We are always influenced by the people around us. We need to surround ourselves with valiant men and women of God.

Father, I thank you for my friends that surround me that you have placed in my life. I thank you for your blessing and that I may be encouraged through them. I pray that their spirits help my spirit draw closer to you, that I may be challenged through them and encouraged through them and blessed through them. I thank you for valiant men and women of God and I pray that I may also be a blessing to others as well. I give you all the honor and glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Excel In Giving

2 Cor 8:7-9
7But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

8I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. 9For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

Paul is encouraging the church to give more and to be gracious in what they do. His letter shows us that we can be great in many things, but we must also learn to give.

Even if I am faithful, and knowledgeable, and love, I must still have a heart to give. I have to be like Christ, who as reminded, gave His life for us so that we may have riches in heaven. I know that there are many that need me to give of my time, my effort, my finances, and so I need to give graciously.

Father, I thank you for your word that will work in my heart. I pray that I may have a giving heart. I know that you want me to open up myself so that I can be gracious in what I do. Lord, that I may give to you as well as to others what you have gave to me. Let me bless others as you have blessed me today. I thank you Lord and I give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Letting God's Words Move Hearts

2 Cor 7:8-11
8Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— 9yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 11See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

The Holy Spirit is the one which convicts and brings to us a the truth. Through us, the Holy Spirit may use our words to convict the hearts of those He wants to touch. Although they may not want to hear the truth, the truth will lead us to Salvation.

I would sometimes dilute or truth and hinder the Holy Spirit, but I believe that the Spirit of God wants to instill into us His Truth and His Light, so that we may know Him. I should move in the Spirit and let Him take control of what He wants to do.

Father, I thank you for your words that you want to instill into me. I know that you want to change hearts and move in people's lives. Let me walk where you walk and go where you want me to go. Let me be able to speak for you, even if it would first cause others to know the truth. Lord, I know you will do something with your words. I thank you for this word and pray this in your Holy name.
Amen.

Blessing Others With God's Favor

Ruth 2:10-12
10 At this, she bowed down with her face to the ground. She exclaimed, "Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you notice me—a foreigner?"

11 Boaz replied, "I've been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband—how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before. 12 May the LORD repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge."

This verse speaks to me about having a giving heart. Boaz is the master of this field and he offers Ruth a place to gather. He is letting her stay here and offering her water and food. His heart is a giving heart to her.

Just like how Jesus has a giving heart, we also should having a heart to be open, helpful, and giving. We should have a heart to serve others as well as to serve the Lord.

I know how your heart is, Lord. I pray that my heart be a reflection of your will. Let me be a person with a giving heart. I pray that you soften my heart so that I may be more like you. I thank you for this word and I pray that it work in my heart. I thank you and pray all these in Jesus Holy name.
Amen.

Only Preaching Jesus

2 Cor 4:5-6
5For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. 6For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

There would be no Christians if it were not for Christ Jesus. If they preach anything other than the Christ, then they can not call themselves Christians. We are the ones we share His good news because it is Jesus that we have Salvation.

God's words is so good and it shows here that we must always preach Jesus Christ. Our words should be of that of God, His words, and from the Bible. The Lord is the one who gives Salvation and only through Him do we know God.

Father, I thank you for your greatness and your love. I pray that all things be in your glory. Lord, I know that I am your servant and I want to only be sharing the words of you. I thank you for your words here and I give you all the glory in your Holy name.
Amen.

Jesus Removed The Veil

2 Cor 3:13-16
13We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away. 14But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

We can trust in the Lord because Salvation is through Him. The Law that God gave us shows us our sins and Salvation is unveiled through the love of Christ Jesus. Jesus fulfilled the law through his death and resurrection. Our veil is removed and we can see His righteousness.

This is a passage affirming that Jesus is Lord. We need to remind ourselves of the goodness and love that comes through knowing Jesus. He is the one that brings Salvation for us. He has come to give us Salvation.

Lord, I thank you for all of these things that you have done for us. If it were not for you, then I would still be in my sins. I thank you for your death and resurrection on the cross. Lord, I pray that all may know your glory. I pray that all may have the glow that comes from knowing you. I thank you for your words and I pray this all in your Holy name.
Amen.

Overcoming Deception

Judges 16:15-19
15 Then she said to him, "How can you say, 'I love you,' when you won't confide in me? This is the third time you have made a fool of me and haven't told me the secret of your great strength." 16 With such nagging she prodded him day after day until he was tired to death.

17 So he told her everything. "No razor has ever been used on my head," he said, "because I have been a Nazirite set apart to God since birth. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as any other man."

18 When Delilah saw that he had told her everything, she sent word to the rulers of the Philistines, "Come back once more; he has told me everything." So the rulers of the Philistines returned with the silver in their hands. 19 Having put him to sleep on her lap, she called a man to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him. And his strength left him.

We can always be deceived by many people. For Samson, he was deceived through his love for such women. Throughout his life, he was deceived by them and always given over to his enemies because of them.

We need to be watchful of the people we feel might deceive us. We must trust in the Lord and he will deliver us.

Father, I thank you for this word. I know that you have plans to prosper us and not to harm us. Lord, I take hold of that promise that you have made. I pray that your spirit discern through me so that I may not be deceived by the devil. Lord, I pray that you be with me like how your Spirit was on Samson. I thank you for all of this and I give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

A Curve Ball In Life

Judges 11:29-37
29 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jephthah. He crossed Gilead and Manasseh, passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from there he advanced against the Ammonites. 30 And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD : "If you give the Ammonites into my hands, 31 whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the LORD's, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering."

32 Then Jephthah went over to fight the Ammonites, and the LORD gave them into his hands. 33 He devastated twenty towns from Aroer to the vicinity of Minnith, as far as Abel Keramim. Thus Israel subdued Ammon.

34 When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of tambourines! She was an only child. Except for her he had neither son nor daughter. 35 When he saw her, he tore his clothes and cried, "Oh! My daughter! You have made me miserable and wretched, because I have made a vow to the LORD that I cannot break."

36 "My father," she replied, "you have given your word to the LORD. Do to me just as you promised, now that the LORD has avenged you of your enemies, the Ammonites. 37 But grant me this one request," she said. "Give me two months to roam the hills and weep with my friends, because I will never marry."

Sometimes the Lord throws a curve ball at our lives. Jephthah made a vow to the Lord and later finds that he has to sacrifice his only daughter for the Lord. The Lord may not make you sacrifice your daughter for Him, but he may take your life in a direction that you don't want to go. He may lead you away from your own plans, and plans to prosper you.

I know that God has great plans for me. I need His strength to follow Him. I know that it will be tough and sometimes I don't want to do it, but I want to be able to go where the Lord tells me to go and do what the Lord tells me to do.

Father, I thank you for your words here. I know that you will lead me to great places and to do many great things. Lord, I pray that I take faith in you Lord and go and follow you. Like Jesus's apostles, they left what they did and followed you. Lord, let me be able to follow you with all my heart. I pray this in Christ Jesus name.
Amen.
