God Can Tell

Mark 1:29-34
29As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew. 30Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told Jesus about her. 31So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.

32That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. 33The whole town gathered at the door, 34and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.

Jesus healed many who were sick. He also drove out many people who were demon possessed. There are differences between earthly, natural failures of this world, and those that are demonic. Clearly, Jesus could tell the difference between the two, whether it be a natural sickness or that some kind of demon is behind it. Not everything is entirely natural, it can be have a spiritual reason, but it also means that not everything is spiritual. Things can happen without demonic forces behind it.

I know that there is a spiritual presence in this world. Sometimes it would be good to know the reason behind what is happening. God's wisdom is the best and that is why being able to hear God's voice is key.

Father God, I thank you for your words. Lord, let me hear your voice. Let me be able to defer the spiritual through you. Lord, I pray that your wisdom guide me. Lord, I pray that through this I get closer to you. I thank you and give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Always The Same God

Malachi 3:6-10
6 "I the LORD do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your forefathers you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you," says the LORD Almighty.
"But you ask, 'How are we to return?'  8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me.
"But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'
"In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

God is always the same.  He is the same here as he is in the New Testament.  He wants his people to turn from their ways and return to Him.

God is the same today.  As he said through his prophet, he still wants us to turn from our sins and to turn to Him.  He has put out his laws for us to follow, not to break.  He wants us to be Holy so that we can stay in His presence.

Father God, I thank you for you are Holy and Exalted.  I thank you for you have not changed.  Lord, you are not a wishy-washy God.  If we were not perfect, you didn't just think of getting rid of us or changing your mind about us, but no, you have urged us to make ourselves Holy so that we can enjoy a relationship with you.  Lord, I thank you for your words, for your promises.  Lord, I thank you for always being the God that you are.  I give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Those That Reject Him

Luke 19:11-15
11While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once. 12He said: "A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return. 13So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas.[a]'Put this money to work,' he said, 'until I come back.'

14"But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, 'We don't want this man to be our king.'

15"He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it.

Here the people of the nation were revolting against their new king. Jesus gave this story to the people in Jerusalem to show them some of the things that they might do. Like the king in the story, people in Jerusalem will also revolt against King Jesus.

There will always be people do will deny Jesus. When God is loving and kind and wants to rule in our lives, people will deny him and revolt against Him. We need to first make him rule over our lives, and second, pray for those that reject Jesus as Lord, so that they too will let Him be in their lives.

Father God, I thank you for you are good and you are great. Lord, I pray that you may rule in my life. Take my life in your hands and, in faith, I know that you are in control. Lord, I pray for those who don't have a relationship with you as Christ Jesus. Lord, I pray that you will open their hearts. Let me show those who deny you how good you are. Lord, I thank you for your words. I give you all the glory in Christ Jesus name.
Amen.

Go With The Sinners

Luke 15:1-5
1Now the tax collectors and "sinners" were all gathering around to hear him. 2But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them." 3Then Jesus told them this parable: 4"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.'

Jesus tells the story of the shepard and the lost sheep. The shepard goes to the sheep to find it.

Like Jesus, he went to the sinners to be where they were to lead them back to God. Like Jesus, we must sometimes go out to where the sinners are and lead them to where God is.

Father God, I thank you for your words. Lord, let your words be my guide. Let your words be the light that I use in this dark world. Lord, I thank you for your words. I pray that I may be more like you. Lord, let me learn by your examples and go to where you want me to go, even if it maybe where the sinners are. Lord, I pray that these words become alive to my life. I thank you and give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.
