God Is So Generous

1 Tim 6:17-18
17Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.

God seeks to lead us closer to Him and this passage tells the same thing. It shows us that money is not the answer, that it can lead you towards a path not taken, but to put our hope in Christ.

What I got out of this passage is that that God is speaking about our faith. Whether it be faith in money, or people, or other things, God wants us to leave our focus on those things, because it can never be the answer, but to put our faith and hope in Him, who provides us all things, over and abundant.

Father God, I thank you so much for all the things that you have blessed me with. I give you all the thanks because you are so generous. Let me put my faith and hope in You and You alone. I can not thank you enough, but allow me to continue to thank you each and every day. Let my focus be on You, Lord. Allow me to be generous and caring and loving as You have loved me. I pray this all in Jesus mighty name.
Amen.

The World's Standards, Or God's Grace

1 Tim 5:8
8If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

This passage gives instructions on how to live, and this passage speaks of providing for relatives, but it speaks more than that. Beyond providing for family, it shows that followers of Christ are held to a higher standard because we are held to God's standards. We need to be beyond reproach in providing for family and everything else in life.

What makes me stand out in my world? How do people see Christ in me? My standard should not be like that of the world, but should be like that of Christ. Not just should I provide for my family, but even beyond that that shows God's love.

Father God, I honor You and praise You because You deserve all the praise and glory. Let these words sink into my spirit and instill in me a desire to live life that shows God's grace to others. I pray for Your Holy Spirit to guide me and strengthen me. I need more and more of You. I give you all the thanks, and I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

Thoughtful Of My Words And Actions

1 Tim 4:16
16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

It is great to reflect on yourself and asking if what you are doing is the same as what we say, what we believe, and what we put our faith in.

I put my faith in Christ, and with that, I need to compose myself and act accordingly. I will reflect on myself and be conscious of myself in the way I conduct speech, life, love, faith, and purity.

Father God, You are so good and I love You so much. You are the awesome One, the Savior of my life. I thank you so much for who You are. I pray for this word over my life. Let it be instilled in my spirit to conduct myself in such a way that is pleasing to You. Allow me to be thoughtful of the things I say and do. Let it be rooted in Your words for me. I give it all to You and I pray this in Jesus mighty name.
Amen.

God's Standards For Influence

1 Tim 3:2-3
2Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.

God speaks to the people here on how to act, to be someone with influence means that you are held to a higher standard since influence can lead others. God gives some instructions on how to conduct oneself, both internal and external concerns.

This is definitely something that speaks near and dear to my heart. Pastor Brian and Andy from Fairwood Church were just teaching on this during the Youth Leaders meeting, to be held to a higher standard since they are leading, shepherding, and influencing the Youth. I need to be cognitive of my own actions, and controlled about my approach as God leads me into relationships and influences of others.

Father God, I thank you for this word that speaks so strongly to my Spirit. I pray that You guide me through your grand wisdom on how to conduct myself in all ways. I pray for a discerning spirit to approach myself in the way that You want. You are awesome and I thank you for redirecting me in this. I give you all the glory, and let it be known that You are my God. I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

To Pray More

1 Tim 2:1
1I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone

Some can read this as requests and prayers be open to everyone, but God's words over this shows me that, I am blessed to have a full open communication to the Lord, and that I should make requests, pray prayers, prayers of intercession and thanksgiving.

I may not have the greatest prayer life, but I want to converse more with my Lord and Savior. In Christ, I can pray prayers of intercession and thanksgiving. I need to do that more often.

Father God, I thank you for a reminder that You are always wanting me to talk to You. I accept your words into my spirit, and I pray this in declaration to pray and ask and seek you more through prayer. I give you thanks, and I bless You in all the grace that you have given to me. Thank you and I pray this in Jesus Mighty name.
Amen.

Loving With A Pure Heart

1 Tim 1:5-7
5The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6Some have wandered away from these and turned to meaningless talk. 7They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

God is speaking and putting things in pain terms. Instead of thinking, analyzing, debating, having meaningless talk, His command is to love, and love with a pure heart.

It's not that talking is not a bad thing, but when it gets too much and to lose focus on what God is, the goal is to love, and I think I am guilty of thinking too much, and needing to just love more with a pure heart.

Father God, I pray for the love that I do not have in me, and to reach out to have Your love. I thank you for your words that speak to me, and I pray that you may show your love through me. Give me the ability to love when I may not. Let your spirit overflow with a pure heart to love others. I pray all these things in Your Mighty name.
Amen.
