Let Us Hear

Rev 3:6
6He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

This verse is stated three times to each of the addressed churches in Revelations 6. The Lord says to us to listen and hear the Spirit. Everyone is able to hear the words of the Lord, and hearing is just half of it. Doing what the Spirit says is the other half that we also must obey.

Just as all can do, I need to have a focus and hear from the Lord. I need to listen to the Spirit and obey and to do what it says.

Father God, I thank you for your word of the Spirit. Lord, I pray that you speak to me and let me hear what you have to say. Let me not interfere with your words, but let it speak to my heart, and that I will obey and do. Lord, I thank you for your word of rhema and encouragement and let my life change through this. I thank you and give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Humble Over Pride

3 John 1:9
9I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will have nothing to do with us.

Here I believe that John is saying that Diotrephes is a type of person that likes to be first, thinking about himself. To me, this verse speaks of humbling yourself. It is so hard for God to work in someone's life and to do something with their life if they are not humble. Pride can get in the way.

I need to leave my pride out of all things and be humble in the face of the Lord. If I don't leave my pride, then it is so much more harder to ever have anything done with the spirit of God.

Father God, I thank you for your love, for your peace, for your mercy. Lord, I thank you for your cross that you took in my place. Lord, I want to be holy and humble in your name. Let me not be prideful of all things, but humble so that you may work in my life. Lord, I want to pray that you change my life to be more humble in Jesus name.
Amen.

Deserving Forgiveness

Jerem 31:34
34 No longer will a man teach his neighbor,
or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,'
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,"
declares the LORD.
"For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more."

How good is the Lord to always forgive. He says in his words that he will always forgive our wickedness and He will not remember our sins anymore. I want to thank God that He is a forgiving God.

As I know that God will forgive me of my sins, I should give thanks and forgive others as He has forgiven me. Why shouldn't I forgive others when I have been forgiven myself.

Father God, I thank you for your great forgiveness and that the blood of Christ covers me. Lord, I give you all the thanks because you are a merciful God. I want to be more like you. Lord, I pray that I may also forgive others, even when they do not deserve it. I pray for a heart to forgive. Lord, I thank you for your words. Let it stir in my heart. And I always give glory to you in Jesus name.
Amen.

Devotions with The Joy of the Lord

1 John 1:3-4
3We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4We write this to make our[a] joy complete.

Even as it says here, we write this out of joy. Even though John is writing to others a letter from the Lord, I am writing this devotion for myself to the Lord, but with joy.

I have to remember the joy part when doing my daily devotions. Sometimes it can be hard to do your devotions without the joy and just doing it to just do it. I must always remember the joy of the Lord when doing my devotions for Him.

Father God, I thank you and praise your name that I may have this time to sit down and read your words and to pray to you. Lord, I thank you with a heart full of joy to be able to grab breath from these words. Lord, I thank you and always give you praises in all things. Lord, let these words speak to me and as I write this, let me do it with a heart of joy. Lord, I thank you and give all the glory to you in Jesus name.
Amen.

Always His Praises

Psalm 105:1-3
1Oh (A)give thanks to the LORD, (B)call upon His name;
(C)Make known His deeds among the peoples.
2Sing to Him, (D)sing praises to Him;
[a](E)Speak of all His wonders.
3Glory in His holy name;
Let the (F)heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.

We should always worship and give praises to the Lord in all things. Here it says to state the blessings that the Lord has done for us, giving us a focus and continually praising the things he has done for us.

Through this passage, it speaks to always worship and praise the Lord. We should always give Him all the glory. Worship and praises are always for Him. In doing so, we should show others how good God is.

Father God, I want to worship your Holy name and give you all the praises. Lord, you are good and your Love endures forever. Lord, I thank you for all these blessings; for good health, for family, for friends, Lord, for all the wonderful opportunities that you have given to me to live a great life. Lord, I thank you for all of these and I give you all the glory. Let my heart continue to be in a state of worship to you. Lord, I thank you and give you all the praises in Jesus name.
Amen.

The Good Figs

Jerem 24:3-7
3Then the LORD said to me, "(E)What do you see, Jeremiah?" And I said, "Figs, the good figs, very good; and the bad figs, very bad, which cannot be eaten due to rottenness."

4Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

5"Thus says the LORD God of Israel, 'Like these good figs, so I will regard (F)as good the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans.

6'For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will (G)bring them again to this land; and I will (H)build them up and not overthrow them, and I will (I)plant them and not pluck them up.

7'I will give them a (J)heart to know Me, for I am the LORD; and they will be (K)My people, and I will be their God, for they will (L)return to Me with their whole heart.

The Lord is a good and merciful God. He knows the hearts of our desires and knows which heart is good and which heart is bad. In this passage, He says that he will take the good figs, the ones with good hearts, and let them prosper.

I need to always have my heart be right with the Lord. I need to always have a heart after His own heart. If I do so, then I will draw closer to Him.

Father God, I thank you for your word. I thank you for having me be able to draw closer to you. You said that you will take the good hearts and give them a heart to know you. Lord, I want to know you more. I pray that you guide me in all that I do and strengthen me. I thank you and I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

The Sinners, The Exiled

Jerem 22:8-10
8 "People from many nations will pass by this city and will ask one another, 'Why has the LORD done such a thing to this great city?' 9 And the answer will be: 'Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God and have worshiped and served other gods.' "

10 Do not weep for the dead king or mourn his loss;
rather, weep bitterly for him who is exiled,
because he will never return
nor see his native land again.

In this passage, I believe that the Lord is talking about the sinners, who had broken the laws of the Lord God. He says to weep for them because they will not be able to go into the good land, the heaven.

This is how we should be feeling for those who have sinned. We should feel for them so much as to testify to save them. Jesus had a heart for the sinners because he knew they were lost. He tried to save them of their sins, and we should too.

Father God, I thank you for your saving grace. Lord, I pray that your words of truth reign in my life. Lord, take it and use it. Let me be a man to share your grace to others, to those that are lost. Lord, I pray that you be glorified in all these things. I thank you and ask all these things in Jesus name.
Amen.

Sharing The Good News

Jerem 20:7-9
7 O LORD, you deceived [b] me, and I was deceived [c] ;
you overpowered me and prevailed.
I am ridiculed all day long;
everyone mocks me.

8 Whenever I speak, I cry out
proclaiming violence and destruction.
So the word of the LORD has brought me
insult and reproach all day long.

9 But if I say, "I will not mention him
or speak any more in his name,"
his word is in my heart like a fire,
a fire shut up in my bones.
I am weary of holding it in;
indeed, I cannot.

These are the words from Jeremiah the prophet, where the Lord has given him a word. Many of the words given are bad and disastrous, and every time he gets a word, he obeys the Lord and says it, even though it would not be good to declare doom over the whole land. How much more should we share the grace of God that Jeremiah shares the doom of the people.

We think that its not easy to share God's good words, but Jeremiah is sharing the doom of the people. That must really suck. But if he can do that, then we must also be able to share goodness through Christ Jesus.

Father God, I thank you for your goodness that you have brought to my life. Lord, I pray that I will be able to share your goodness to others, that it will be easier than what Jeremiah did. Lord, I pray that your glory be known through all of these. I pray that you be glorified in all these things and that you give me the opportunity to Do. I thank you Lord and give thank and glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Complete Faith

John 11:38-40
38So Jesus, again being deeply moved within, came to the tomb. Now it was a (AU)cave, and a stone was lying against it.

39Jesus said, "Remove the stone." Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to Him, "Lord, by this time there will be a stench, for he has been dead (AV)four days."

40Jesus said to her, "(AW)Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?"

Already Martha's faith was stumbled as she was questioning why Jesus wanted the tomb of Lazarus. She did not put complete faith in the works of Jesus.

Like Martha, sometimes my faith will only go so far. It sometimes would not be complete faith in God. I would only go half way before stopping, sometimes unknowingly, without complete faith in God. Jesus says to have faith in Him and He will show God's glory.

Father God, I thank you for your greatness and your Love for me. Lord, I pray that this verse of faithfulness, complete faith, strengthen my desire to know you. Lord, let my faith not stray, but be focused completely on you. Lord, I thank you for this word from you. I also pray for the healing touch that is needed for auntie violet. I pray that we press on in prayer. Lord, let the continuous prayer have complete faith in You. I thank you and give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

He Speaks From The Unexpected

2 Chron 35:20-22
20(W)After all this, when Josiah had set the temple in order, Neco king of Egypt came up to make war at (X)Carchemish on the Euphrates, and Josiah went out to engage him.

21But Neco sent messengers to him, saying, "(Y)What have we to do with each other, O King of Judah? I am not coming against you today but against the house with which I am at war, and God has ordered me to hurry. Stop for your own sake from interfering with God who is with me, so that He will not destroy you."

22However, Josiah would not turn away from him, but (Z)disguised himself in order to make war with him; nor did he listen to the words of Neco (AA)from the mouth of God, but came to make war on the plain of (AB)Megiddo.

Sometimes the word of the Lord comes even from the least expected. Here, it comes from the enemy, but is still words from the Lord.

We need to be attune to God's words so that from where ever it may come from, we will know that it is His words and that it is His will.

Father God, I thank you for your word and I want to glorify your name with them. Lord, I pray that your words speak truth. Let me have my spirit be close to yours so that I may learn to hear your words. I want to be able to hear your truth in all these things. I thank you Lord and I want to give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

True Worship

John 4:23-24
23"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.

24"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

It pleases God to be able to come before Him and be righteous while we worship Him. God delights in those that worship Him in His spirit. His spirit is holy and we need to worship him in true holiness.

When I come before the Lord, I need to have lived a life pleasing to the Lord. I don't want to have had a bad and stressful and sinful and distracting attitude when it comes to giving Him worship. I want to keep myself holy so that when I do worship Him, it will be pleasing.

Father God, I pray for your holiness and your peace. Lord, I thank you for giving me the opportunity to be able to give you worship. Lord, I give you holy worship and praise. I thank you for what you have done for me, for my salvation through Christ Jesus. I give you thanks in all that I do. Let me have a heart holy in your eyes so that the worship that is given be sweet to you. I thank you Lord, I give you all the praises in Jesus glory.
Amen.
