Focused On Keeping From Evil

Prov 4:21-27
20My son, (AG)give attention to my words;
(AH)Incline your ear to my sayings.
21(AI)Do not let them depart from your sight;
(AJ)Keep them in the midst of your heart.
22For they are (AK)life to those who find them
And (AL)health to all their body.
23Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For (AM)from it flow the springs of life.
24Put away from you a (AN)deceitful mouth
And (AO)put devious speech far from you.
25Let your eyes look directly ahead
And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you.
26(AP)Watch the path of your feet
And all your (AQ)ways will be established.
27(AR)Do not turn to the right nor to the left;
(AS)Turn your foot from evil.

This verse speaks to me about being focused. Keep from the evil in this world and stay alert of the things that are in your way, so that you may focus on being Holy. We must turn our foot and our path to not go towards evil.

My God is a God of Holiness. I know that He will not like it if I am unholy in His eyes. I need to stay focused on Him and to keep my eyes towards Him. I need to make sure that I don't stumble and fall.

Father God, I thank you for your words. Lord, I pray that I may be kept Holy and focused on You. Lord, I give you all praise and all worship. I pray that my faith in you and my strength in you not fall, but let me be focused to You. Lord, let your spirit work in my life that I may always do what is right in Your eyes. I thank you and I give you all the praise and glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Apart From A Fallen World

Rom 6:14-20
14For (W)sin shall not (X)be master over you, for (Y)you are not under law but (Z)under grace.

15What then? (AA)Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? (AB)May it never be!

16Do you not (AC)know that when you present yourselves to someone as (AD)slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of (AE)sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?

17But (AF)thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that (AG)form of teaching to which you were committed,

18and having been (AH)freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

19(AI)I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh For just (AJ)as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.

20For (AK)when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.

After reading this verse, it shows that the world is a broken world, and the norm for it is sin. This world that we live in is full of things that the Holy Lord, our God, does not like. It is unholy in His eyes. As we come to Him and turn from this world, we are turning away from our old self, from our sins, and coming to righteousness, to Him.

As I turn from my sins, I do not live in this world, but I reside in it. I must turn from the world that has so much sin in it and consecrate my life from the sins of this world.

Father God, I thank you so much for when your Son, Christ Jesus, died on that cross, you gave this broken world a chance to live in righteousness. Lord, I thank you for your blood, because it is the only thing that lets me come to know you. Lord, I pray that I may set myself apart from this sinful world and be Holy in your Name, only by your grace. I thank you for what you have done. I pray that I may show others how great your grace is by shining into others' lives. I give you all the glory and give you all the praise in Jesus name.
Amen.

A Holy Temple

1 King 8:26-28
26"Now therefore, O God of Israel, let Your word, I pray, be confirmed (AI)which You have spoken to Your servant, my father David.

27"But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, (AJ)heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You, how much less this house which I have built!

28"Yet have regard to the (AK)prayer of Your servant and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which Your servant prays before You today;

Solomon has made God's temple, but like he says, God can not be contained in one building. He can not be contained, period. He is who He is. He is with each one of us, in each of our lives. He lives in us, for we are also His temple. Because He lives in us, we need to be Holy as this temple was made Holy.

Nothing can contain the Lord my God. He is the one and mighty God. He is the one who dwells in me. My life, my heart is a temple for my Lord, my God. I want to make holy my life for my Lord, Christ Jesus.

Father God, I pray to you today that I have sinned and fallen short of your Holy, your Glory. Lord, I pray to you that you make me and my life Holy before you. Lord, I pray that you may want to dwell in my heart. Lord, I thank you for your blood for it is the only thing that may cleanse me of my sins. Lord I thank you for dwelling in my temple. I pray that I can make this temple Holy before you. I give all the thanks to you and give you all the Glory. In Jesus name.
Amen.

Knowing Is Not Always Following

Rom 1:18-21
18For (AJ)the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who (AK)suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

19because (AL)that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.

20For (AM)since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, (AN)being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

21For even though they knew God, they did not [c]honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became (AO)futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

It is not enough to know God, but to follow Him and make Him Lord of your life. God has given us this world itself as a testimony of His presence. His whole creation, nature, the skies and the stars, us as humans, we are His testimony that He is real, yet, knowing that He is real is not enough. We need to make Him Lord over our lives.

Every time I see how great God's creation is, I know in my heart that He is real. Although I know that He is real, it is still difficult for me to make Him complete Lord over my life. temptation and sin are always creeping over my life and it is only when I make Him Lord that I can have peace in His spirit.

Father God I thank you for your are real in my life. I know that you are the Lord of my life and I pray that I make you Lord over my life. I give you all the praises and worship forever and ever and ever. Lord, I pray that I spiritually fight anything that leads me off focus on you. Lord, I pray that your spirit be with me. I give thank in all things in Jesus name.
Amen.

Real Effort For The Lord

2 Sam 24:21-25
21 Then Araunah said, "Why has my lord the king come to his servant?" And David said, "To buy the threshing floor from you, in order to build an altar to the LORD, that the plague may be held back from the people." 22 Araunah said to David, "Let my lord the king take and offer up what is good in his sight. Look, the oxen for the burnt offering, the threshing sledges and the yokes of the oxen for the wood. 23 "Everything, O king, Araunah gives to the king." And Araunah said to the king, "May the LORD your God accept you." 24 However, the king said to Araunah, "No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price, for I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God which cost me nothing." So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. 25 David built there an altar to the LORD and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. Thus the LORD was moved by prayer for the land, and the plague was held back from Israel.

The Lord was pleased with David here because David sacrificed, not the burnt offerings, but the money that he needed in order to give the sacrifices to the Lord. Although David is King and has a lot of money, the effort was there to buy the lot and the oxens even though he could have gotten it for free, because it had to cost him something. A lot of times we give to the Lord, or the Lord is trying to teach us something, yet we take the shortcuts, we take the free items, it doesn't hurt us. We need to learn to sacrifice to the Lord where it impacts us.

There are many times where I would feel like I'm sacrificing something to the Lord or doing something for the Lord, yet it doesn't inconvience me. It doesn't show my faithfulness to Him. Sometimes, the Lord is trying to build our character or test us, but we need to let Him impact us.

Father God, I thank you for your words. Lord, I pray over these words that you let it speak in the spirit. Lord, I pray that I know how to draw close to you. Lord, I pray that I am impacted from your words. Lord, let me really sacrifice when I sacrifice. Let me seek you and to JUST seek you. Lord, I pray that I may know you. I pray that I put some effort in what I do for you. Everything I give to you, all my efforts is for your glory. I want to pray all this in Jesus Holy name.
Amen.

Pleasing To God

1 King 3:2-5

2(E)The people were still sacrificing on the high places, because there was no house built for the name of the LORD until those days.

3Now (F)Solomon loved the LORD, (G)walking in the statutes of his father David, except he sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

4(H)The king went to (I)Gibeon to sacrifice there, (J)for that was the great high place; Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.

5(K)In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon (L)in a dream at night; and God said, "(M)Ask what you wish me to give you."

The Lord our God is a gracious and loving God. He loves us enough to give us chances. When we mess things up, He will always give us chances. He wants us to succeed. Here, the people are sacrificing to God in a place that God would not want them to sacrifice in. He still likes the sacrifices, but wants it to be in a Holy place. God wants to set things right by having a Temple for Him where it is made Holy for Him. Solomon is the King who is responsible for the building of His temple. God lets us get away with some things that He would prefer us to do more so His way, which shows of us love and grace towards us.

There are probably some things in my life that are not sinful, yet still not according to God's will. It is not a bad thing in God's eyes, yet it is not also a good thing as well. I want to have God show me what I am doing that is not pleasing to Him and I want to be able to change.

Father God, I thank you for your grace and your mercy. Lord, I pray that you open my eyes up and open my heart up to know your will. I want to have a heart that pleases you. Lord, if I am doing anything that is unpleasing to your will, show it to me, open my eyes to it. Let me know what it is and let me be able to change according to your will. Lord, I pray that I have a changed heart. I give you thanks and glory and I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

Love One Another

1 Thess 5:12-15
12Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

Jesus commanded us to do all these things. Each of these is its own separate command, but each together is to love one another as Jesus said.

Jesus loved us so much that he died on the cross for our sins. He died so that we may live with Him in heaven. He asks us to love each other. We wants us to get along with each other. I want to be a loving and caring person. Most of the time I feel that I am, but I can always find those times that I am not to be more Christ-like.

Father God, I thank you for your Son, Christ Jesus, that I may be more like Him. Lord, I pray that I love others more, just like how you loved even the sinners. Lord, I pray that I may be more like you. I want to respect and love others more. Let me be more like that. I pray that my character change to be more loving. I want to pray that this rhema be with me. I give you all the honor in Jesus name.
Amen.

No Worry Whose First

1 Chron 25:8-10
8(I)They cast lots for their duties, all alike, the small as well as the great, the teacher as well as the pupil.

9Now the first lot came out for Asaph to Joseph, the second for Gedaliah, he with his relatives and sons were twelve;

10the third to Zaccur, his sons and his relatives, twelve;

As humans, we are all in the same boat. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's Holiness. We are no different than the ones before us. We have all sinned against God. As Christians, we serve out God, the one and true God. There is no greater among ourselves, because only God is greater than us. The pastor is no greater in the eyes of God than the ushers. The elders is no greater in the eyes of God than the children. There is no shortcut when it comes to God's decisions.

My relationship with God is between Him and I. Me being better than someone else is not going to change my relationship with Him. I want to build my relationship with my God and not worry about who is who. All of us are in the same boat, and we should not worry about who is first among us and who is last, but how our relationship with God is.

Father God, I thank you for your Spirit to come into my life. Lord, I invite your Spirit to be with me. Let me know you more. I thank you for the relationship that we have, that I may be able to come to know your as a personal God. I thank you for your word, that I may not worry about this world, but to focus on you, Lord. I thank you for this rhema, and I pray that you be closer in my life. I give you all the honor and the praises in Jesus name.
Amen.

Prayer For Others

1 Thess 3:9-10
9For (N)what thanks can we render to God for you in return for all the joy with which we rejoice before our God on your account,

10as we (O)night and day keep praying most earnestly that we may (P)see your face, and may (Q)complete what is lacking in your faith?

Just as the followers of Christ prayed, we should also pray for one another. We should pray for our weaknesses. Let not the devil get a hold on our lives.

I would like to pray for others more. I want to be able to make my prayer count. I want to pray that we support each other as disciples of Christ. Prayer is most important.

Father God, I thank you for your holy name. I give your name glory and honor and praise. I thank you for your cross. That sin of mines on your hands. I know that your name is Power. I pray in Jesus name for others, Lord. I pray that a Holy Spirit power come on other Christians, disciples, that the devil not touch them because of Jesus name. Lord, I pray that we can support each other as well as pray for each other. Lord, I thank you. Your spirit move with us, Lord. I give you all the praise in Jesus name.
Amen.

When There's Trouble, Call Upon The Lord

Psalm 55:13-17
13But it is you, a man my equal,
My (V)companion and my (W)familiar friend;
14We who had sweet [c]fellowship together
(X)Walked in the house of God in the throng.
15Let death come (Y)deceitfully upon them;
Let them (Z)go down alive to Sheol,
For evil is in their dwelling, in their midst.
16As for me, I shall (AA)call upon God,
And the LORD will save me.
17(AB)Evening and (AC)morning and at (AD)noon, I will complain and murmur,
And He will hear my voice.

This psalm about people being deceitful, yet still putting your trust in the Lord. We can always talk to our God about our troubles, about being attacked by the devil. He will always hear us when we call.

Let me be more in tune with talking with God. I want to be able to always seek Him whenever and wherever I am. I want to talk to Him every time of the day. I want to be able to call upon the Lord, and trust in Him.

Father God, I thank you for your name, that it is so Holy and that I may talk to you whenever. I thank you for your grace and your mercy. I put my trust in your name, in You. Lord, I thank you for your power, that I can have you with me as I fight the spiritual battle. Lord, I pray that you be with me and give me strength. I thank you and I give all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Got A Talent

Matt 25:14-18
14"Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. 15To one he gave five talents[a] of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. 17So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. 18But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.

This story of the guys that are given talents show the master's love for them. He knows them because He knows that they have talents. It says that they were given talents each according to their own ability. The person who was given one talent kept it stored away. The master knew he could have done something with that one talent. It didn't say that he had no talents, but one. Even as little as one, he still had some talent. The master gave him one talent because he saw a talent in his servant. Even the least of us have one talent. We should do as the master says and use it.

I may be like the person who has one talent, I may be like the person who has two or five. I know that whatever person I am, I know that I have some talent and that I have to use it. I do not want to dig it and hide it, not using it. I want to multiply and prosper.

Father God, I thank you for all the blessings you have given to me. I thank you for what you have done in my life. Lord, I pray that the talents you have given me, let me use it for your kingdom. Lord, I thank you for everything. I know that I should not hide and store away my talent, or you will take it from me, but let me use it to further your kingdom. I thank you for all these things. I pray that you be with me and guide me this week. Let this word that you have given to me be with me. I give you all the glory and honor in Jesus name.
Amen.

The Fight Against Yourself

2 Sam 13:1-2
1Now it was after this that (A)Absalom the son of David had a beautiful sister whose name was (B)Tamar, and (C)Amnon the son of David loved her.

2Amnon was so frustrated because of his sister Tamar that he made himself ill, for she was a virgin, and it seemed hard to Amnon to do anything to her.

It is always a struggle with the flesh when your body craves something. In this case, Amnon was lusting over his sister. Our body and our flesh is strong, but our spirit needs to be stronger and control ourselves. If we are not in control, sin can come and devour our soul.

It is always hard to control sexual temptation. God's Holy Spirit gives me strength to control my flesh. I can not let my flesh take over, but I must come to the Lord and give my whole self to Him. I have to let Him take control.

Father God, I thank you for the Holy Spirit. Lord, I give you all the praise and all the glory. I thank you for what you have done in my life. I know that you are here. I know that you are with me. I give you my body, do with it as you will. I give you all earthly temptations. Let me not be stumbled by them, but let me focus on You. Lord, I pray this in you because your name gives me strength. I thank you for this word. Let it be with me this week. I give you all the glory in Jesus Holy name.
Amen.

Knowing Your Words

Matt 22:25-30

25"Now there were seven brothers with us; and the first married and died, and having no children left his wife to his brother;

26so also the second, and the third, down to the seventh.

27"Last of all, the woman died.

28"In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had married her."

29But Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, (V)not understanding the Scriptures nor the power of God.

30"For in the resurrection they neither (W)marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

Many times we are like these people who do not understand the Lord and His words. We sometimes misunderstand, or we don't fully comprehend the meaning of what Jesus was telling us. We don't understand the thing that he is trying to teach us.

As I read the Lord's words, I want to be able to know what He is saying to me. I want to understand what he is tring to get to in his words. I don't want to misunderstand His words. I want the Holy Spirit to speak into me as I read His words so that I may understand His words more.

Father God, I thank you for your son Jesus Christ for dying for my sins. Lord, I thank you for Your words. Your words are life in my life. It is the light that shines in my life, guiding me. I thank you for your words Lord. I pray that I understand your words and I pray that it speaks into my life. I pray that I not misunderstand what you want to tell me. Holy Spirit breath these words in my life so that I may apply it. I thank you for all these things. I give you all the honor and glory in Christ Jesus name.
Amen.

Help Me, Help You

1 Chron 19:12-13

12He said, "If the Arameans are too strong for me, then you shall help me; but if the sons of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will help you.

13"Be strong, and let us show ourselves courageous for the sake of our people and for the cities of our God; and may the LORD do what is good in His sight."

The Lord wants us to work together as a team. We each have our strengths and our weaknesses. If one person should need help, we should help them. If we ourselves need help, we should let others help us. We do God's work as a team.

Not everything I can do by myself. I have no talents in some fields and many talents in other fields. I need to let others help me when I can't do something myself. I can not let my pride or any other thing get in the way of my flesh to do God's work.

Father God, I thank you for today. Today you let me know that I need others. I can not always just depend on myself. I need to have others help me. I know that working as a team is what you want. You let me know that I can't do everything myself. I thank you for humbling me. I want to give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Wanting More

Matt 19:18-22
18Then he said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "(R)YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS;

19(S)HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and (T)YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."

20The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?"

21Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and (U)sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have (V)treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

22But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.

This man who is seeking Jesus wanted to know what he can do to get into the kingdom of heaven. He has followed all the commands and asked Jesus what else he can do. Many times We are told to do things, and we do it. After that, we are content with everything, but few ask for more.

I do not want to be content in life. I do not want to be a content christian. I want more. I want to do more. I want more expected of me. Even though I don't know if I can do it, I want more. What more can I do for my class, for my family, for God?

Father, I thank you for all of your blessings. Father I give you thanks for everything you have put in my life, but I want more. What more can I do for you. What more can I do for others. I don't want to settle for content. I don't want to settle for good enough. I want a higher standard. I want more in myself. I want to pray that in your name. I give you all the glory and let this word of yours be kept in my heart. I thank you and give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Time To Worship

1 Chron 15:27-28
27Now David was clothed with a robe of fine linen with all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers and Chenaniah the leader of the singing with the singers. (U)David also wore an ephod of linen.

28Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the horn, with trumpets, with loud-sounding cymbals, with harps and lyres.

This was how Israel worshiped when the ark of the Lord was in their presence. They shouted with praise, they played musical instruments. They were worshiping. When God's presence is here, we should worship like they did.

I love to worship God. When His presence is here, I love to sing and praise Him. I can shout praises to Him. His Spirit should cause us to bust with praise and worship in His name.

Father God, I thank you that I may worship and praise you when you are here. Lord, I thank you for your Holy Spirit. I thank you for letting me worship you. Lord, I pray that when I worship you, that you are here in my presence. Let me be holy to you. I want to worship you with a holy heart Lord. I pray that I learn to worship and praise your glorious name. I thank you and give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.
