Praises Before

Dan 2:19-24
19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and said:
"Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;
wisdom and power are his.

21 He changes times and seasons;
he sets up kings and deposes them.
He gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to the discerning.

22 He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him.

23 I thank and praise you, O God of my fathers:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king."

24 Then Daniel went to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to execute the wise men of Babylon, and said to him, "Do not execute the wise men of Babylon. Take me to the king, and I will interpret his dream for him."

In this passage, Daniel praises God before he even took the knowledge of interpretation to the king. He trusted the Lord God and thanked Him beforehand. Daniel's faith was shown through his actions.

In most cases, we praise God after He has done something for us. This passage has shown me that I can also praise God before He has done something for me. I can strengthen my faith through praises before He blesses me.

Father God, I thank you for all these things that you have blessed me with and all the things that you will bless me with. Lord, you are good and you will be good forever. Lord, I give you all praises and worship. Lord, I thank you for your word and let me be strengthened by this. I give you all honor and praises in God's glory.
Amen.
