Sent By God To Save The World

Judges 6:11-15
11 The angel of the LORD came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. 12 When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, “The LORD is with you, mighty warrior.”

13 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the LORD has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.”

14 The LORD turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”

15 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”

The same question that is asked now was also asked in history, where was God when His people suffered. The answer was as it always was, that sin and disobedience allowed suffering into the word. As Gideon asked this, God told him to save Israel, and his response was one of an excuse.

I believe God is sending me, sending us to save the world for Him. I believe we can either choose to accept this, or reject it, and in doing so, rejecting Him. Many times, we make up excuses and we try and reason our way out of the very thing that we complain about, but it takes boldness, and the Holy Spirit to change the world, to change generations.

Father God, I pray for boldness and wisdom and strength from the Holy Spirit to take on this challenge and be sent by You. I pray for more of You and less of me. I know that You plan all these things, and I pray that in all things, You may be glorified. I ask that you bless and give favor for your works, and that many people may draw closer to You in the result of it. I give you thanks, and give you all the glory and honor in Jesus name.
Amen.
