Caring For The People, Making A Disciple To Lead

Num 27:12-17
12 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go up this mountain in the Abarim range and see the land I have given the Israelites. 13 After you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people, as your brother Aaron was, 14 for when the community rebelled at the waters in the Desert of Zin, both of you disobeyed my command to honor me as holy before their eyes." (These were the waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the Desert of Zin.)

15 Moses said to the LORD, 16 "May the LORD, the God of the spirits of all mankind, appoint a man over this community 17 to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the LORD's people will not be like sheep without a shepherd."

As the Lord was telling Moses that he will die after God shows him the land that He has given, Moses asks the Lord to have someone that is able to lead the people as they go into the Land that He has promised.

Moses is a man caring of the Israelite people. Even after God tells him that He will die, he is concerned about the people. He asks God to have a disciple, one who will be able to lead the people. God answers with Joshua.

Lord God, I pray that my heart be like Moses, where he cared enough for the people. I pray that I may be able to make disciples, that will have a heart after yours, to be able to lead others. I pray that I may be proactive in doing this will of Yours. I pray this all to glorify your name.
Amen.

Knowing That God Does Miracles All The Time

Mark 5:11-17
11A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. 12The demons begged Jesus, "Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them." 13He gave them permission, and the evil spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.

14Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened. 15When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 16Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man—and told about the pigs as well. 17Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.

Jesus came to this place and did a miracle, he sent the host of demons out from a man, yet the people wanted Jesus to leave.

Sometimes, people who do not know the Lord are blind to the glory that He does everyday, the miracles that He does in our lives. As Christians, we see what God can do, and we know how good He is.

Father God, I thank you for miracles and blessings. I know that sometimes, people may not understand that greatness of what you do, but I pray for them. I pray for the people who don't know You, that they may have eyes that see and hears to hear the glory of God. I pray this that you may be glorified in Jesus name.
Amen.

Trusting God Through All Situations

Mark 4:35-40
35That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." 36Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"

39He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

40He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

Even after Jesus spoke through parables and explained it to his disciples, they still had no little faith in Jesus. They were still scared of the future and doubtful of the outcome.

After spending so much time with Jesus, and having him speak into their lives, after sharing to them and having them trust in Him, it is hard to do when trouble come by. We need to be able to trust Jesus, not only when things are good, but through troubled times.

Father, Lord of the heavens and the earth, I pray that I may be able to trust in You no matter what the situation. I pray that You take control of my life and calm my storms. Give me faith to do this. I thank you, and I give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Letting Go Of Pride And Letting God Take Control

Num 16:1-3
1 Korah son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and certain ReubenitesDathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab, and On son of Peleth—became insolent 2 and rose up against Moses. With them were 250 Israelite men, well-known community leaders who had been appointed members of the council. 3 They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron and said to them, "You have gone too far! The whole community is holy, every one of them, and the LORD is with them. Why then do you set yourselves above the LORD's assembly?"

Workers of the Tabernacle, leaders of the assembly, these are people close to God, yet even pride can overtake them. They rose up against Moses and against God.

I know that I am a servant, as well as a leader, but I must keep humble and having a heart of the Lord. I must let go of my pride and be in God's will.

Lord, I pray for your blessing. I want your blessing. Do not let pride or jealousy get in my life, and do not let my own will lead me, but I pray that Your will be done in my life. I want to give you glory in my life. I want to be led by you. In Jesus name.
Amen.

Do Not Let Fear Cloud Your Judgement, Trust In God

Num 13:31-33
31 But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are." 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."

The people who went up to spy on the land came back in fear. They were clouded by their own judgements that they did not trust God. Their fear overcame them, blowing things out of proportion.

Fear can do many things to people. But, through our fears, we need to trust in the Lord to do great things through us.

Father God, I pray against my "giants" that cloud my judgements. I pray against any fear of the future and the unknown, but that I may trust in You, the Lord of all the Universe. I pray for your guidance in my life. I pray that I may follow You. I pray against the fear in Jesus name. Do what you want in my life. I give you glory and honor and praise.
Amen.
