Allow God's Words To Be God Breath

1 Thess 2:13
13And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.

The words that we read and hear from the Lord can sometime come at us so humanly, and losing its rhema and the breath that makes it the word of God.

My devotional life and my seeking of God's words has not been so disciplined lately, and many times it also lacks God's breath and rhema, but this passage reminds me that God's words speak life in me. I need to allow God's words to not be so material, but to be God breathed.

Father God, I thank you again for your wonderful words, because you speak life into me. Your blessings and grace are so great. I know I am blessed, because You are such a great God. I thank you for this reminder and to speaking rhema into my life. Change me from the inside out. Give me a passion for your words and to seek you more and more each day. Allow me to be disciplined in my devotion to You. I honor you, I give thanks, I give you praise, in Jesus name.
Amen.

God Loves Us, Even In The Little Things

1 Thess 1:4-5
4For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

Paul is writing to the Thessalonians about how they are doing, and encouraging them in their faith.

I like how Paul chooses simple words that speak so much truth. That these brothers were loved by God, not "brothers who love God", but showing that God loves us. We often times lose sight of God's love for us, and how he chose us first.

Father God, You are holy and majestic in all that You are. This world can not glorify you enough than you deserve, because You deserve all things and all praises. You, who are so great, love me who does not deserve, but Lord I thank you for having grace and mercy on me. I thank You so much for Your love. Even the little things that you show me. I pray that the little things, the subtle words, the tones of voice, the small actions that I portray, may it be pleasing to You. I give you all the honor and glory in Jesus mighty name.
Amen.

Let Your Words Be Full Of Grace

Col 4:4-6
4Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Paul gives guidance on how to reach out to others that do not know Christ. He states it in a gracious way, to speak the truth with grace with every opportunity.

This is a passage of reaching out to others. It is a great reminder to me that God's words are words of grace, that we don't need to push it down the throats of those who don't believe, but to be full of grace and to speak the truth in every opportunity.

Father God, I thank you for your words. These words speak your glory and how great You really are. I pray over the words that come out of my mouth, that they ever be gracious and abounding in Your truth. Allow me to be wise and be full of grace. I thank you so much, Lord. I pray over your saints in Seattle, that we may all be a light to those without Your light. I pray over the spirit in this area, that you may open up hearts. Allow Your spirit to move. I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

Be Loved And Put On Love

Col 3:12-14
12Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Paul is speaking in this letter how to live your life in Christ. This part talks about forgiveness and character and love.

I like how this passage starts off with love, and ends with love. To be dearly loved, and to put on love. Love is such an important character of God, since God is Love, and shall be instilled into our hearts.

Father God, I thank you so much for who You are. You are the alpha and the omega, the first and the last. Let your name be so glorified. I thank you for speaking to me about love. Allow me to realized that I am so loved by You. Let me put on love such that You are Love. I pray that through love, all these things may be shown in my life. I thank you so much, Lord. I give you all the honor and glory in Jesus name.
Amen.
