Swayed By Words Of Men

Exodus 23:2-3
2 "Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd, 3 and do not show favoritism to a poor man in his lawsuit.

These are laws that were given to Moses and the people of Israel from God. These laws were to guide the people and to have them follow it. One of these laws was to be honest and not give into the peer pressure.

So often we are swayed by the opinions and thoughts of what others think of us. We are so consumed by judgment and pressure, that we fail to focus our attention on the One who matters.

Father God, I pray for these words to bring rhema to my life. I pray for your Holy Spirit to speak to me and to guide me. Let me not be swayed by the words of men, but to focus on You. I pray for honesty and Your discernment. Thank you for being with me and blessing me. I give you honor and praise and glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

A Culture Changed By God

Exodus 22:16
16 "If a man seduces a virgin who is not pledged to be married and sleeps with her, he must pay the bride-price, and she shall be his wife. 17 If her father absolutely refuses to give her to him, he must still pay the bride-price for virgins.

As part of the law, a man should have to pay the father fines and take the daughter in marriage as the father sees fit. This was in accordance with the law.

Imagine how it would be like in these days where, if we sleep with ones who are not our wife, we would HAVE TO marry them and take them as your bride. If people see things in a different light, one that the Lord has planned for us, we may not do the things we do today. People would not sleep around. They would certainly know the consequences of the law.

Father, You are awesome and perfect. Your love for your people so so exceedingly abundant. I pray for your people, and I pray for the spirit that has overtaken our culture that we are not committed to one another, but instead we sleep around and not take account for our own actions. I pray for a spirit of commitment and a culture that see's things through Your eyes. I pray that You may be glorified in Jesus name.
Amen.

God's Laws As Guidance

Exodus 21:1
1 "These are the laws you are to set before them:

In this passage, God speaks to Moses and lets the people know what the laws are in terms for marriage, and murder, and servant hood, among other things.

Although it seems like these are all outdated, God mentioned these laws as a guidance to our living in accordance with what He wants. Although the law is good, it is not everything, and more importantly to follow God's spiritual guidance.

Father God, I thank you for your laws and I pray for an understanding that You have given to your people to follow these laws. I pray even more for spiritual laws, and to follow You in these things as well. I ask that You give me guidance. Allow me to hear from You. I pray for your word to speak mightily. You are so great, Lord. I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

Honoring God Leads To Blessings

Exodus 20:24
24 " 'Make an altar of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you.

Here, we see one of God's many promises to us. He says wherever His name is honored, He will come and bless us.

If we want blessings, we need to not think about ourselves, but put God first. Honor Him and He will bless us. We do not honor Him for the blessings, but in honoring Him, we will be blessed. We need to bring God the Honor He deserves.

Father God, I honor You because You deserve all of it. You are the one who sacrificed Yourself for me, to take my punishment, and took it on Yourself. Lord, you deserve all the honor. I praise You in all these things. I pray for Your words, and for a revelation of Your anointing. Let Your words guide me and give me wisdom. I pray for a bigger revelation than my own understanding, but to follow You in all this. I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

Let God Carry You

Exodus 19:4-5
4 'You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself. 5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine,

The Lord speaks of how he is the one that carries us and delivers us. Even in this situation, we are to give it up to Him and praise Him for it.

Especially during this time when I am planning on buying a house, it is so stressful and just finding the right house is stressing me out. Here it says to let God carry you, allow Him to take that stress and put it on Him. I need to not rely on my own, but to allow God to be God and depend on Him instead.

Father God, I pray for your peace on me. I pray for Your anointing and that I may put all my stress and allow You to carry me. You are the great I AM and I give you so much glory. I pray that you may speak to me, and give me guidance. Let me not use my own judgment, but to spiritually know the direction that you are pointing me to. I want to know you more. I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

Praying Over Our Leaders

Exodus 18:19-23
19 Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people's representative before God and bring their disputes to him. 20 Teach them the decrees and laws, and show them the way to live and the duties they are to perform. 21 But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. 22 Have them serve as judges for the people at all times, but have them bring every difficult case to you; the simple cases they can decide themselves. That will make your load lighter, because they will share it with you. 23 If you do this and God so commands, you will be able to stand the strain, and all these people will go home satisfied."

Here, Jethro is advising Moses in how to govern the people. He is to appoint trustworthy men who fear God, and to have them deal with the smaller cases.

This passage speaks to me about the government and how we need to have trustworthy leaders and especially ones that fear God. We need to pray over our government, our leaders, and our land.

Father God, I pray right now for your Holy Spirit to come and cover this land. I pray for the leaders that you have appointed, and that they may know Your name and come to fear who You are. I pray against the enemy attacks, and find favor in Your name. I pray this in Your glory.
Amen.

What Does Your Banner Show?

Exodus 17:15-16
15 Moses built an altar and called it The LORD is my Banner. 16 He said, "For hands were lifted up to the throne of the LORD. The LORD will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation."

After defeating the Amalekites, the people built an alter in honor of the Lord's victory. The alter was called The Lord Is My Banner.

When I read this verse, the Lord spoke to me about MY banner of Jesus. What does my banner of Jesus Christ represent. Does it show a banner that defines the victory that we have in Him? Does my banner show timidity, or boldness in the Holy Spirit? Is my banner a blank banner, or is it one that shines Jesus' Victory? I want my banner to declare the glory of God.

Father God, I declare that Your banner in my life be so evident of Your glory. I pray that my life overfills with how great You are and is a testimony of your love and your grace in me. I ask that You give me boldness in the Holy Spirit, and that I may be able to give you praise, in Jesus name.
Amen.

Live Life In Appreciation Of Jesus

Exodus 16:6-8
6 So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites, "In the evening you will know that it was the LORD who brought you out of Egypt, 7 and in the morning you will see the glory of the LORD, because he has heard your grumbling against him. Who are we, that you should grumble against us?" 8 Moses also said, "You will know that it was the LORD when he gives you meat to eat in the evening and all the bread you want in the morning, because he has heard your grumbling against him. Who are we? You are not grumbling against us, but against the LORD."

The people of Israel were complaining to Moses and Aaron that they were led into suffering in the desert with no food and water. They wanted to go back to Egypt where they had food and water. The Lord provided quail and manna for them to eat, but the people still complained to Moses and Aaron.

A lot of times we are like the people of Israel. We complain to those around us, but it is ultimately complaining to the Lord that he does not provide and he is not blessing us. Who are we to complain to the Lord God Almighty.

Father God, You are so awesome. You are the Holy one and You love me so much. Who compares to You, the creator of all things. Forgive me for my sins. Your blood washes away the sins of my own, and I pray for Your Holy Spirit to lift me up out of bondage and overcome. I pray against the shortcoming in my life and not to complain, because You are the provider of all things. I don't want to complain to You, Lord. I pray that I may live life in appreciation of You. I pray this in Jesus mighty name.
Amen.

An Obedient Heart

Exodus 15:26
26 He said, "If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you."

God is speaking to the people through Moses telling them to follow Him. He says that he will not only keep the diseases from them, but He is their healer, one that goes above and beyond just keeping bad things away, but bringing good this and blessings.

It is difficult at times to always follow the Lord my God, but He promises that if we follow him and listen to Him, he will bless us so much and go beyond just keeping bad things away, but bringing restoration and healing into our lives.

Father God, I thank you so much for who you are and what you do in my life. You are such a blessing and you have brought so much blessings into my life. I honor you for that. I pray for more of You and an obedient heart to listen to your words and hear what you have to say and to obey. I pray this in Jesus mighty name.
Amen.

The Glory Of God In Faith

Exodus 14:28-31
28 The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.

29 But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. 30 That day the LORD saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. 31 And when the Israelites saw the great power the LORD displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.

This is a record of God leading His people through dry land and defeating the enemy that were pursuing them. God fulfilled his promise to the Israelites and freed them from the Egyptians.

This is the classic story of Moses and the sea that they crossed. It would be amazing to see God's glory in such wonder. I could imagine being one of those Israelites who crossed the sea on dry ground. Would I have enough faith that the wall of water would not kill me?

Father God, you are so good. You are great and mighty and all powerful. You split bodies of water with a thought. You move mountains and remove enemies. I pray for your glory to be known. Let your glory be known to my enemies, to those who pursue me, and those that harden their hearts towards you. I pray for all to come to know Your love for them. I pray this in Jesus mighty name.
Amen.

The Purpose Is Jesus

Exodus 13:14-16
14 "In days to come, when your son asks you, 'What does this mean?' say to him, 'With a mighty hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 15 When Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed every firstborn in Egypt, both man and animal. This is why I sacrifice to the LORD the first male offspring of every womb and redeem each of my firstborn sons.' 16 And it will be like a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead that the LORD brought us out of Egypt with his mighty hand."

God is using this tradition of the unleavened bread and the sacrificing of the animals for the first born as a reminder of what had happened and what God did for His people.

There are a lot of times that traditions are forgotten and they turn into meaningless acts, but God is reminding us of His love and His passion for me and you. We must remember what God's purpose was and what He has done for us.

Father God, there are so many things that I do, yet I do not do it with a heart that is after yours. I pray that I may not forget the reason that I do things, whether it be traditional things or just going through the motions. I pray that I always have a purpose, and that purpose is in You. I pray that I may honor You and give you glory. I pray all this in Jesus name.
Amen.

We Give Praise In Different Ways

Exodus 12:40-42
40 Now the length of time the Israelite people lived in Egypt was 430 years. 41 At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the LORD's divisions left Egypt. 42 Because the LORD kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt, on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor the LORD for the generations to come.

To honor God with his promise to the people, the Israelites stayed up all night long in order to honor the Lord.

There are many ways to honor God. One way that they were able to do this was to stay up all night. We can all honor God in our own way.

Father, You are so great and You keep your promises to your people. I know that we can give you praise, and we do it in many different ways. Take up my praises to you in any way that I show it. Let it be pleasing to you. If it is staying up late to worship you, let it be pleasing to you, if it is through playing the drums, let it be pleasing to you, if it is through dancing around, let that please you. Lord, I give you all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

God Completely Saves

Exodus 11:1
1 Now the LORD had said to Moses, "I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here, and when he does, he will drive you out completely.

The Lord told Moses that this last plague will be the decisive action that brings Pharaoh to completely let the all of the Israelite go.

God is all powerful and He does things in excellence and complete. Before, Pharaoh would only let the men go, the people go, but after this last one, ALL of Israel will be told to go.

Father God, I thank you that you are an excellent God who is all powerful and full of grace. I pray for Your Holy Spirit to completely fill my life and guide me in my actions and give me wisdom and discernment in Your name. I pray against the enemy in Jesus name, that he may not hinder nor divide, but by the Power of Jesus and the blood of the Him who sacrificed himself, that You completely saved me. Thank you so much. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.

Don't Be Blind To The Physical

Exodus 10:12-13
12 And the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over Egypt so that locusts will swarm over the land and devour everything growing in the fields, everything left by the hail."

13 So Moses stretched out his staff over Egypt, and the LORD made an east wind blow across the land all that day and all that night. By morning the wind had brought the locusts;

God told Moses to yet again stretch out his hand and through him create another plague that will ravish Egypt.

After so much that had happened in Egypt, I wonder what is left that is worth saving. Pharaoh's heart is hardened not to let the people go, yet sometimes the we get blind by what we see and our own physical limits that we can't see the full picture. We need God's insight and His spirit to show us and reveal to us the things to come.

Father God, I pray for your eyes to see and your ears to hear what Your plans are for my life. I know that You have great plans, plans for Your glory, and I pray that I may not be blinded by the physical aspects, but for you to reveal the spiritual activities of Your glory. I give all the glory to you in Jesus name.
Amen.

All For His Purpose

Exodus 9:15-18
15 For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with a plague that would have wiped you off the earth. 16 But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. 17 You still set yourself against my people and will not let them go. 18 Therefore, at this time tomorrow I will send the worst hailstorm that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the day it was founded till now.

God is speaking through Moses and saying that He is all powerful and at any time He could have done away with Pharaoh and the people of Egypt, but He had a purpose for him, so that God's glory would be shown.

God has a purpose for me and you. He has plans for everyone, including that of the enemy. He shows us and uses us in all ways, all so that He may be glorified.

Father, God of these days, I praise Your name and pray that You may have all the honor and glory and praise. I ask that You be lifted up and that the whole earth may know the love and grace that you gave. I ask that the purpose that You have for me be so evident that I may follow You. Holy Spirit continue to guide me and speak to me. I pray for Your spirit to overflow within me. You orchestrate all things in Your glory. I pray that Your will be done. In Jesus mighty name I pray.
Amen.

Not To Be Prideful

Exodus 8:6-7
6 So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land. 7 But the magicians did the same things by their secret arts; they also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt.

Just like some of the previous miracles, the Pharaoh's magicians did their tricks and sorcery to mirror God's miracles. In this instance, they would also bring frogs out from the rivers and ponds.

When I read this, I was thinking, "why would they do that? Wouldn't they want to send the frogs away?" In realizing what was going on, God's words revealed that this was a act of pride for the magicians. They wanted to be as powerful as the one who was doing all these miracles through Moses and Aaron; they wanted to be look upon as gods. Pride leads to sin, which leads to death.

Lord Jesus, You are so awesome. It is so mind blowing that you were God in Heaven, yet you humbled yourself to be like man. I pray that Your humility would cover the pride that resides in me. I pray against my pride, that I may not be led into temptation, but to lead a life that is pleasing to You. Let me trust in You. I pray that You may be glorified in Jesus name.
Amen.

After Many Years

Exodus 7:6-7
6 Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD commanded them. 7 Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

The Bible states when Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him what God wanted to say to them.

Sometimes, it may take many seasons of times before God's plan for you becomes visible. He may be preparing you for things to come. He used Moses and Aaron after eighty years of their lives passed. Trust in the Lord and He will direct your path. He may be preparing it right now, but trust in Him till the time has come.

Father God, You are the awesome author and creator of my life. I pray that you may be exalted. I know that You have plans for me, plans for greater things, and I know that you are preparing me for this time. Lord, I ask that You continue to use me to share Your love to others, and I pray that Your Holy Spirit direct me. I pray this in Jesus name.
Amen.

Notice God's Love For Us

Exodus 6:6-8
6 "Therefore, say to the Israelites: 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. 7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD.' "

God is standing up for His people even though they do not believe in Him. He is taking His people and freeing them as He had promised.

We sometimes don't notice God's work and His passion and love for us because we are sometimes in our own sorrow and grief that we forget how much God desires to be with me and you. He first loved us.

Father God, You are so great. You loved me first, even before I could think of how great You are. I am so thankful for Your grace. I pray that I not focus on myself, but to focus on You. You are doing great and mighty things. I pray for Your power to go forth on earth. You deserve all the glory in Jesus name.
Amen.

Not Us, But God Does The Impossible

Exodus 5:15-21
15 Then the Israelite foremen went and appealed to Pharaoh: "Why have you treated your servants this way? 16 Your servants are given no straw, yet we are told, 'Make bricks!' Your servants are being beaten, but the fault is with your own people."

17 Pharaoh said, "Lazy, that's what you are—lazy! That is why you keep saying, 'Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.' 18 Now get to work. You will not be given any straw, yet you must produce your full quota of bricks."

19 The Israelite foremen realized they were in trouble when they were told, "You are not to reduce the number of bricks required of you for each day." 20 When they left Pharaoh, they found Moses and Aaron waiting to meet them, 21 and they said, "May the LORD look upon you and judge you! You have made us a stench to Pharaoh and his officials and have put a sword in their hand to kill us."

This must have been a frustrating time for the people of Israel as well as for Moses. They were tasked to to an impossible job and were beaten for not doing it. The people started to blame Moses for this.

There will be times where I will get frustrated and I will feel like I am tasked with something that is impossible to do. I must trust in the Lord and lean not on my own strength, but to trust that He will enable me to succeed.

Father God, You are the mighty One. I honor You because You are the only one that deserves it. I pray for my situation and my feeling of not being able to do the impossible. Holy Spirit, comfort me and ease my mind to trust You in all that I do. I allow You to be the impossible, not me. I give you all the glory in Jesus mighty name.
Amen.
